The Jørn Utzon designed Paustian flagship in Copenhagen is a must-see for all designer furniture lovers. DANSK MOBELKUNST GALLERY
Founded in Copenhagen in 1992 by Ole Høstbo, Dansk Møbelkunst Gallery specialises in 20th Century Scandinavian design. Since it first opened, the gallery has become a leading authority in Danish historical design from 1920–1970, with particular emphasis on rare modernist furniture, lighting and ceramics. The gallery regularly showcases some of Scandinavia’s most important furniture designers and architects in solo exhibitions such as - Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Poul Henningsen, Poul Kjærholm, Finn Juhl, Frits Henningsen, Børge Mogensen, Ole Wanscher and Kaare Klint.

The Next Generation House by Sou Fujimoto Architects (with obvious similarities to Jenga) is a small weekend house that overlooks the River Kuma in Kumakura, Japan. The 4m cube offers surprising functionality due to the little spaces formed by the square cedar logs - perfect spaces for seating, sleeping, eating and storage.
The Next Generation House won 2009 Wallpaper Design Awards - Best Private House.













James May, a toy fanatic from the UK (and presenter of hit show Top Gear) has built a house entirely made from Lego. The two-story Lego palace is located in the middle of a vineyard and has a working bathroom. James used bricks pieced together by 272 Legos. Over three million bricks were used so that’s about 816 million Lego pieces. Thousands of people put their hand up to join in and help build this fantastic house with many lining up the night before construction started - Love it!!!

Now that Spring (or should I say Sprummer – Google it!!) is officially here, what better time to take inspiration from beautiful residential architecture and their fabulous interiors – the sky is blue and the sun in shining - from art to furniture, its time to get inspired – Sprummer style...











Portugal based firm SousaSantos Arquitectos designes the Y House as a vision device in the medieval town of Obidos, Portugal. The design was based on a system that rules the way the inhabitant sees the world and likewise the way the outside sees the dweller.





Remaining true to the original 1960’s Harry Ernest and Associates Courtyard House was key for Melbourne based Carr Design. The interior design of this sensation Melbourne residence won Carr this year's Australian design award for best residential interior in the 2009 Interior Design Awards.











On the danish island of Bornholm, Hotel Du Nord is the ultimate in creative chic. The Design Addicts sprummer holiday perfection - check out that kitchen!!

ITZ ALAAAAAIVE!!!!

Just like Frankenstein’s monster this green wall created by Canadian studio Bricault Design for a house in LA was said to be inconceivable.

The plant-covered extension has living walls on three sides that not only visually link with the green roof and surrounding landscape but contribute to the passive systems that keep the house cool in lieu of air conditioning. Solar panels supply the home’s power while the green roof provides a solid supply of vegetables, watered by captured rainwater and recycled grey water. A central sculptural staircase leads up to the green roof but also doubles as a chimney by drawing cool air down into the house.

In hindsight, it’s a much better idea than putting some dead body parts together and charging them with electricity, hey Victor?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my favourite was the the 2009 Design Journey Winner "Zoe", amazing!
